The Analysis of Precipitation Measurements in the Upper Sava Valley

My paper deals with one of the leading factors influencing soil erosion, i. e. the rainfall erositivity. The first part offers a broad outline of erosion processes, the underlying mechanisms, forms and factors including prediction methods. The second part deals with the general description of rainfall and the problems we face in identifying soil erosion.

Special attention was given to the RUSLE method which served as the basis for the evaluation of erosion R factors. On the basis of precipitation data for Lesce, Rateče and Javorniški Rovt measuring spots from 1981–2004 I evaluated the R erosion, which I then compared to the erosion evaluation made on the basis of daily precipitations and average monthly temperatures.

On the basis of this comparison I concluded the R=∑Pd2 . a equation proves to be relevant for Rateče measuring spot only, where the closeness of agreement of annual R factor values ranges between e=0,78 and e=0,87, while for Lesce measuring spot e ranges between 0,54 and 0,56. The maximum deviation in relation to months can be observed in the spring time when the nature of precipitation changes from spring to summer regime. The application of Santos equation indicated, the erosion factors evaluation depends mostly on the location of measuring spots.
